SunPower Appoints Lisa Bodensteiner Executive Vice President and General Counsel
Energy Veteran Brings Wealth of Experience to Global Solar Leader

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- SunPower Corporation (NASDAQ: SPWR), a Silicon Valley-based manufacturer of high-efficiency solar cells, solar panels and solar systems, announced today that energy veteran Lisa Bodensteiner has been named SunPower's executive vice president and general counsel. She will lead the company's global legal organization effective June 25. Bodensteiner comes to SunPower from First Solar where she served as general counsel, project development since 2009.

At First Solar, Bodensteiner was key in creating the company's project pipeline and leading significant acquisitions. She also served as executive vice president, general counsel and secretary at OptiSolar where she led the effort to sell its project development business to First Solar.  Bodensteiner has extensive power industry experience, including more than a decade at Calpine serving in various legal related roles such as executive vice president, general counsel, secretary and chief compliance officer.
