SunPower Names Jorg Heinemann Chief Information Officer

SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec 15, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ --

SunPower Corporation (Nasdaq: SPWRA, SPWRB), a Silicon Valley-based manufacturer of high-efficiency solar cells, solar panels and solar systems, today announced that Jorg Heinemann has been named the company's new chief information officer (CIO). In this new role, Heinemann will drive SunPower's global information technology (IT) organization and lead the company's strategic technology planning for business and customer platforms.

Prior to joining SunPower, Heinemann was an executive partner at Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company. During his 20-year tenure, Heinemann was responsible for Accenture's global business relationships with Hewlett-Packard and led the Clean Tech and Sustainability Practice for Accenture's Communications and High Technology Division. He was instrumental in driving large scale change programs for prominent high-tech companies such as Apple, Autodesk, Cadence, Hitachi Data Systems, Intuit, Sun Microsystems, and Toshiba. Heinemann successfully implemented business change initiatives that covered a wide range of solutions such as CRM, eCommerce, ERP, IT Strategy & Operations, R&D, and Customer Service.
