SunPower Names John Rodman as Its Corporate Controller
Financial Veteran Joins Growing Solar Company to Lead All Accounting Functions

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jan. 17, 2006  /PRNewswire/ -- SunPower Corp. (NASDAQ: SPWR), a Silicon Valley-based manufacturer of the world's highest efficiency, commercially available solar cells and solar panels, today announced that John Rodman has joined the company as vice president, corporate controller, reporting to the CFO. In this capacity, Rodman will oversee all accounting and financial reporting for the company.

Rodman has served in a variety of public companies during his career. Most recently, he was the vice president and corporate controller for ZiLOG, Inc., where he was responsible for treasury management and investments, external SEC reporting and compliance, global risk management and income taxes. Rodman was also responsible for maintenance and oversight of ZiLOG's internal accounting control structure, general accounting, review of agreements and transactions, and support of investor relations activities. Prior to ZiLOG, Rodman was assistant corporate controller at Altera Corp., where he managed the company's general accounting department and financial systems.
